C. S. Lewis uses agape in The Four Loves to describe what he believes is the highest level of love known to humanity: a selfless love that is passionately committed to the well-being of others. In the film Casablanca, it is in the struggle between the "archetypal " daemons portrayed by each of the principal actors, that this highest expression of Love is achieved.

Ah… Husserl …wrote an MA thesis concerning him many years ago… yes, I agree with you that there’s no point in going into the jargon of phenomenology. Noumena, noesis, noema, …, not a total wreck, but nearly. If he had only remembered from his time with Brentano,
