Wonderful! I am so glad writers like you are starting this discussion over the importance of parents guarding their children's imagination. I'm glad you mentioned video games. As fun as they can be, they're... not good because of the reasons you detailed, and it's even worse when people continue addicted to them once they are adults.

Actually, the imagination cannot be controlled. Due to our fallen state, it is - more or less - unruly. However, it can be filled with good memories and experiences. In other words, instead of "indexing" and "monitoring" the countless creations that excite the imagination in an amoral or immoral way, it is better to cultivate it by proposing creations that orient it towards sane creativity (in my opinion, Tolkien's heroic romances are a good example of such creations). As for computer/digital games, this is a topic that must be properly addressed. Hopefully, I will write something exclusively about this issue.
